Jess Hauck
In my art I employ text to create a stronger relationship between it and the viewer. I am a mixed media artist with a focus on text, texture, paint, and space. I use these elements to confront my audience with their doubts, beliefs, and insecurities. They are displayed unconventionally to add a level of discomfort. Color and texture help me convey the mood of each individual piece and add to its understanding. This forged connection is the most important aspect of my work. I'm a senior fine arts major at TCNJ. I have studied and and enjoy painting (acrylics, oils, and watercolors), drawing/sketching (charcoals), sculpture (usually conceptual - not classical), welding, wood-burning, and photography (digital, film, and large-format). Lately I have also been experimenting with graffiti art.
